Established in the late 70's, Boomori Park initially produced Part Arabian Galloways, then a small number of Purebred Arabians from 1980 - 1985 (mainly by outside stallions). However, Boomori Park is really about a small select and reasonably closely related number of animals (all tail-female to Rafina*(Rustem/Risala) who became the foundation bloodlines of the horses produced by the stud after 1985, and from which all individuals descend today. Upon the purchase of the tall, bay pure Crabbet stallion Chip Chase Kaiwanna in 1980, then the wonderfully bred pure Crabbet mare Crown Jewel in 1984, it was decided that to follow a pure Crabbet breeding program may be a "useful and interesting" thing to do.

Dora Maclean's love of Arabian Horses was inspired by a photograph in a magazine she had discovered as a young woman. The photo was of Wilfred and Lady Anne Blunt dressed in full Arab attire, beside a tent with an Arabian mare. This particular mare became an ideal for Dora and she hoped to one day have a similar mare of her own. In May 1925 her first Arabian mare arrived at Fenwick, and she was purchased from Lady Wentworth of Crabbet Park Stud - the daughter of the Blunts.

The stud strives to breed the very best stock for Endurance riding. All our young up and coming endurance horses enjoy a happy natural ‘childhood’ and then only when physically and mentally strong enough they are professionally broken in.
